La Jolla Brewing Company (LJBC) is a friendly restaurant and brewery located in the heart of the village. The cavernous dining room is decorated with colorful ocean-inspired paintings by local artist Alicia Dunn with Danny DiCola. LJBC recently launched a daily Ten for $10 lunch menu along with $2 beers. Brewmaster Bryan Chatelle produces both house and seasonal brews. For a summer surprise that speaks to winter, try the creamy Aftershock Oatmeal Raisin Lager currently on draft.

On the food side, the hearty BLT & Avocado served on brioche with smoked bacon and chipotle aioli is a customer favorite. Also popular are the Beer Battered Fish & Chips and Hangar Steak Quesadilla. With talented Chef Milton Rodriguez at the helm, everything is made in house from scratch such as the BBQ Potato Chips, Black Beans and Broccoli Coleslaw with cranberries.

There’s also a private event space in the back that’s ideal for hosting corporate or private parties.

About Jolee Pink

I am a California-based writer, designer, artist, super foodie and avid traveler. I view travel as a superlative learning experience and have visited nearly 50 countries. As the author of Living Coastal: Inspirations for Entertaining, Decorating and Cooking California Style, I brought together artists and chefs to capture the spirit of San Diego influenced by the Pacific Ocean. The Wabisabi Green lifestyle blog focuses on art, design, food and travel. My colorful ceramic sculpture has received national recognition and is on permanent display at Rady Children’s Hospital. I also design and market a boutique eco-friendly textile line featuring bold modern motifs based on nature, world travels and the southern California coastal lifestyle.
